SKATER CONDUCT AND ICE ETIQUETTE
SKATERS RIGHT OF WAY ON THE ICE

Other skaters must avoid interference with the skater who has the “right of way”. The skater having the “right of way” must be alert and aware of others around her.
· Be courteous – observe normal rules of etiquette and speech throughout the facilities.
· Eating, chewing gum, smoking or drinking (except drinking water) is not permitted on the ice.
· Get up as quickly as possible after falling – sitting or laying in the path of other skaters is hazardous for everyone.
· Do not stand around on the ice - if you must stop go to the boards
· Do not interrupt coaches or skaters during a lesson.
· Parents are requested not to speak to the coaches while lessons are in progress
· Do not congregrate in groups on the ice.
· Skaters must practise the session discipline ie: during Freeskate, dance or skills are not permitted.
· All skaters are expected to participate in Group Enrichment/Stroking when it is included in the session. Anyone (including coaches) not participating in a designated Group lesson must leave the ice for the duration of the lesson.
· Cell phones and iPods are not permitted on the ice.
