What Session Fees Include

CanSkate , Sk8 Academy, Pre-Power Skate and PowerSkate Fees include instruction. On StarSkate and CompetitiveSkate Sessions, unless otherwise indicated, the session fee is for ice only and does not include instruction. Skaters receive instruction from professional coaches in private, semi-private or group lessons. All ice fees are paid to the club. All instruction fees are paid directly to the professional coach.

Session Qualifications

Skaters are expected to skate on the sessions for which they are qualified. Qualifications required for each level are listed below:

Junior – new to private lessons,  passed no higher than Preliminary test in any discipline

Intermediate – must have passed a Junior Bronze Freeskate or Skills  test

Senior – must have passed a Senior Bronze Freeskate or Skills test

Open Sessions – open to all private lesson skaters, all skill levels

      Registration Limits on Sessions

Registration limits are placed on sessions so that they function well and to ensure the safety of the skaters.

Registrations on STARskate sessions are limited to 22 skaters.

      Buy Ons :

From time to time, skaters may choose to skate on a session for which they are not registered.

To ‘buy on’ to a session, sign the Buy-On Book under the appropriate day and session. Write your name, date and session on the envelope provided, put the appropriate fees in the envelope, and put the sealed envelope in the Buy-On box.

Partial session Buy-ons are not permitted! Skaters must purchase the entire session – the rates are  indicated at the top of the sign-in sheet.

Skaters are reminded that you may not “skate up” or "skate down" on any sessions unless you  have  received prior approval from the PCFSC Board of Directors.

  Volunteer Participation Program

All Port Coquitlam FSC members must participate in the Volunteer Participation Program with all  families contributing time to the club for various tasks that might otherwise cost the club money to perform or fall on only a few members. While skating knowledge is not required for many volunteer tasks, volunteering is an opportunity to gain insight into how our Club operates, learn more about the sport of figure skating, and meet fellow club members. As little as an hour or two of your time will make a difference! Each family is required to sign up for at least one activity during the skating season. Each family must submit the completed and signed volunteer form and a cheque in the amount of $50.00 postdated to February 1 with their registration forms or their skater(s) registrations will not be processed. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator if you have any questions about how to complete  the form or how the requested information will be used
